The ENATA Championship winning board 2018 is the product of the development cooperation between our riders experience, our R&D, and design teams. ENATA Team's athletes have conducted a long testing campaign at numerous competitions to refine the design.
ENATA board has been designed with the goal of being the fastest possible with the least Aerodynamic, and Hydrodynamic drag possible while increasing the comfort during wave impact for a fast and stable ride.
To achieve this goal, ENATA's hydrodynamics engineers used Fluid Dynamics simulations and optimisations in order to perfectly position the Aero and Hydrodynamic assets of the ENATA board’s shape.

Built to perform

The board is often the neglected part in the overall performance package of a kite foil.
With this new board, ENATA is bringing many new innovations that make the board a central part of the overall performance.

PRODUCT DESIGN

HYDRODYNAMICS

The hydrodynamics of a foiling board is very different from a regular board. It is used as a regular board only for take-off.
Therefore, the design is focused on minimising hard landing (nose-diving) and wave piercing.

High rocker: The high rocker helps on landing to ensure that the board does not dive.

Step: The board has a step that ensures that upon landing, that water is not sucked by the board. The step introduces a local bubble that detaches the flow of water from the board. This has the effect of making the board bounce back when it hits the water on a nosedive.
The step also extends to both sides so that when a wave touches the side of the board, it quickly detaches from the board.

Spray rails: The front part of the hull has 2 spray rails that limit the drag when a wave is touching the board and also provides a small push.

Rails: The rails have been designed to redirect the spray on the front part of the board, and to cut nicely through the waves without changing the angle of the board.

Wave piercing nose: The nose of the board has been designed to provide a high wave-piercing capability, quickly detaching the water flow from the board, and also protecting the feet and straps that slows down the board very significantly whilst going through a wave.

AERO

The aerodynamics of the board has also followed a thorough process with Computational Fluid Dynamics simulations and sailing tests.

This design focuses on having a clear flow on the nose of the board that shadows the front foot-strap. The board also has a soft cover on top of the straps to further improve the flow.

BUILT

The strength of the board is key to both avoiding losses in the power transmission from the kite to the glider, and also to ensure the most reactive and precise control of the board.

Our boards are 100% carbon built, with partitions making a solid bridge within the core of the board between your feet and the mast box.
This ensures both the best performance and that the boards are built to last and are a great investment, providing top performance for years to come.

No pad deck: We have built the deck to both full carbon and anti-slip. This minimises the weight of the board, improves power transmission, and our tests have also shown that this is also more comfortable for the feet.

The board is fitted with an industry-standard deep Tuttle Box, so that, should you have the silly idea of using our board with a mast that is not from ENATA, you will still be able to.
